In recent years, more people are looking to use natural products. According to a report by the Natural Marketing Institute (NMI), the global market for natural and organic products reached $362 billion in 2020, and is expected to continue to experience strong growth in the long-term.

There are several factors that may contribute to this trend, including increasing concerns about health and the environment, as well as a growing awareness of the impact of personal care and household products on our overall well-being.

It's worth noting that the term "natural" is not regulated, so it's important to read labels and do your own research to determine if a product is truly natural.

It's important to clean your oral appliance regularly to help prevent the build-up of microorganisms and keep it in good condition. But how can you clean your aligners, retainer, dentures or night guard naturally, without using harsh chemicals?

Some of the patients I speak to rinse their appliance with lukewarm water after each use or use a soft-bristled toothbrush to gently scrub the appliance.

However, I've seen that these methods are often not sufficient, leaving their appliances dirty, unpleasent and unhealthy to wear.

I currently recommend my patients that are interested in cleaning their oral appliances naturally to try the Dental pod

The ultrasonic waves generated by the Dental pod are able to scrub oral appliances clean without the need for harsh chemicals.

A study using microscopes to look at dental plastics found that traditional cleaning methods, such soaking in a chemical solution, remove significantly fewer microorganisms than ultrasonic cleaning.

I hope that you’re now more confident about taking care of your oral appliance. If you need more advice, please don’t hesitate to contact Zima Dental customer support at support@zimadental.co.uk

The Dental pod effectively cleans aligners. It’s quick and convenient and you don’t need to worry about damaging your aligners. I recommend that you regularly use the Dental pod to clean your aligners and eventually your retainer once your treatment has concluded.

It's best to clean your appliance using a combination of a sterilising tablet and an ultrasonic cleaner, such as the Dental pod. This will help ensure that your appliance is properly cleaned and maintained.
